Windows PC: Setup your Receipt Printer

Hardware Setup:
  1. Plug your receipt printer into a power source
  2. Connect the printer to the computer using a USB cable
  3. Ensure receipt paper is loaded properly - up from the bottom, not down from the top
  4. Ensure receipt paper is the correct type - must be thermal paper
  5. Press the Feed button to ensure paper is ready to go
Driver Setup:
  1. On your PC, open the Start Menu and search for Devices and Printers
  2. If you see your printer automatically added to this screen, skip to Step 3
    • **NOTE** - If your printer shows as Unspecified, like the image to the right, then you’ll need to install the correct drivers from the manufacturer’s website. http://www.starmicronics.com/support
  3. Right-click the printer and select Printing Preferences
  4. Select Paper/Quality
  5. Select Advanced
  6. Set Paper Size to “72mm x Receipt”


Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Configuration:
  1. Install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
  2. Download this sample Receipt PDF file and open it using Acrobat Reader DC
  3. With the sample Receipt PDF open, select Print in Acrobat Reader DC
  4. At the top of the Print screen, select Receipt printer (if not on the list, go back to Driver Setup)
  5. On the Print screen, set the Paper Size & Handling option to Actual Size
  6. On the Print screen, set the Orientation option to Portrait
  7. Click Print to save these settings and test your work!


Flowhub App Configuration:
  1. Download and install the Flowhub app from
  2. Open the Flowhub app and login using your username and password
  3. With Flowhub open, press the Alt key on your keyboard to expose the top menu
  4. Click Printers, then Print Engine. For Receipts select Adobe. 
  5. Click Printers, then move your mouse to Receipts and select your Receipt printer
  6. Test your work by ringing through a transaction, or navigate to the Adjustments section, select a previous transaction, and click Print Receipt in the Details section.
